Milestone moment as new era beckons for Loughmacrory Community Centre…
This sunday evening will be a historic one in Loughmacrory Community Centre . Following 50 years of entertainment and activities in the original ‘Community Hub’, the curtain will come down for the last time in the Community Hall.
The Community Hall will also see a remarkable transformation in the weeks and months ahead.
Later this month the work will begin on a £350,000 redevelopment of the Loughmacrory Community Centre. On Sunday evening though the Community Hall, which has seen a remarkable era of Youth Club activities, Pantomimes, Plays and Talent Shows, will celebrate on the ‘old stage’ for one last time.
This Sunday evening, 11th March, from 6pm to 8pm, will see a night of entertainment by a range of local artists in what will be a “Last Hurrah” for the old Community Centre Hall. It promises to be a great night of nostalgia, not least because of the history that has seeped through the Hall and stage itself, but it will also be a terrific night of entertainment in store for all who are in attendance.
With a limit of just 200 tickets in place for the night, it would seem likely that a range of people from across the generations will be there to both celebrate and say farewell to an era in the Community.
The Loughmacrory Community Development Association have been embarking on a huge range of events and activities now for twelve months and with the final pieces nearing completion in the fundraising jigsaw, which will ensure another 50 years of a special Community Hub in Loughmacrory, this will be a night for all to savour and enjoy as the next era begins.
It is another fantastic chapter in what has been a terrific legacy in recent times for the Community.
