Loughmacrory GFC host Annual Youth Presentations for 2017

Loughmacrory GFC hosted the annual youth presentation on Sunday 26th November and rewarded the boys and girls of the club for participating in both football and scor.

All u6, u8, u10 and u12 boys and girls received a certificate for participating throughout the year in go games and tournaments. Large numbers embraced the cold wet Saturday mornings and the sunny Wednesday evenings every week and we thank the boys & girls and the voluntary coaches for all the work put in over the year.

Our u14s and u16s, both boys and girls were also recognised for all their hard work on the pitch. For the first time this year, the club had a development u14 team which competed in grade 3, thus ensuring boys got game time. Both the u14 boys and the u16 girls made their respective county finals, a great year for our youth all round.

Congratulations to those who were presented with awards last night:

U14 Development most promising player – Oliver Donaghy
U14 Development Player of the Year – Keelan Logue

U14 Most promising player of the year – Conor Kelly
U14 Player of the year – Gareth Donaghy

U14 Ladies most promising player – Katie McElholm
U14 Ladies Player of the Year – Alana McGaughey

U16 most promising player – Patrick Curran
U16 player of the year – Dara Curran

U16 Ladies most promising player – Cora Fox
U16 Ladies player of the year – Siobhan Gordon

A massive thanks to Peter Harte, Neamh Woods and our very own Antoin Fox for attending and making the presentations.

We are also very grateful to Shane McCullagh & Kerri Ward for all the work they do for the youth development within the club and of course their very active and dedicated team of voluntary coaches – without them, teams wouldn’t exist.

Last, by no means least, thanks to all the parents who continue to support and encourage their children to attend training, take lifts to matches and tournaments – all your work doesn’t go unnoticed and your children do themselves, their club and families proud everyday they wear a club jersey.
