Season ends for Loughmacrory senior ladies team with win against Dromore

Loughmacrory senior ladies football team saw the curtain come down on the 2016 campaign at Pairc an Locha on Monday evening with a final round victory in the Division 2 league.

A frenetic end to end contest ended in a 5-9 to 2-17 victory for Loughmacrory.

The team retain their Division 2 status for 2017 and of course were very unlucky not to book a county championship final place this season. The championship aspirations ended at the hands of Ardboe O’Donovan Rossa’s after 130 minutes of enthralling action. Having been inseparable after the initial 60 minutes of play, the teams were again deadlocked at the end of extra-time and Ardboe eventually made it into the county final by just a one point margin after a titanic tussle in the semi final replay. Ardboe will meet Dromore in the County Intermediate Championship final in two weeks time.
