With an impressive international flair to the event with players from Puerto Rico and Holland travelling to complete, there is a record entry from all parts of Ireland too. A total of 263 players in all will contest the grades across the weekend and with 339 matches in total to be played as part of a most comprehensive tournament programme, there is no doubt that a massive weekend of action is in store.

Puerto Rico’s Wally Amaro will fly in on Friday morning and his first task will be to lead a Coaching Camp session with Kids from P3 upwards and that is open Free to all young kids in the community to come along and take part.

The Tournament itself will then appropriately get underway with the youngest age-group in the entire event – the Boys Under 10 A Doubles competition. Almost 40 Under 10 players will take part in this event and that will get the weekend started and will be followed on Friday evening with action in 11 & Under, 15 & Under and 17 & Under grades.

The Mens and Ladies Open will take centre-stage on Saturday which will see all other grades commence in a brilliant weekend of GAA Handball – which really is another huge Promotion and Development of the Sport in the area.

In addition to the handball action on the courts of play, the travelling players and the wider community will also get the opportunity to enjoy a great social occasion. This will be further highlighted on Saturday (13th August) night when the Club will put on an evening of Entertainment in the GAA Clubrooms for everyone.

MAD FOR THE ROAD will take to the stage from 9pm on Saturday night and is sure to attract a big crowd with admission Free on the evening. The club will also have a number of sport prizes at the Music Session Night on Saturday.

The traditional Finals Day on Sunday at the Tournament will of course start with the annual Club Mass at 10.00am in St. Mary’s Chapel. The Mass also sees many of the players from around Ireland take part. For anyone not making it to the Tournament, the Mass is also streamed live by St. Mary’s on the link below.

It will then be Finals Day from 11.15am over at the One Wall Arena as the semi final and finals action across the grade will take centre-stage. A massive day of quality handball in store then on the sunday and for anyone in the county who wishes to see the sport of One Wall Handball played at it’s very best then Loughmacrory is the place to be!

There is no doubt that many of the very best players in Ireland are in Loughmacrory this weekend and of course admission is Free all weekend for anyone who wants to see them in action!
