Loughmacrory move into 2nd place in league after 5 rounds

Loughmacrory St. Teresa’s maintained their impressive start to the 2016 campaign on Sunday when travelling to score a superb victory over Stewartstown in round five of the league.

Loughmacrory trailed by 0-7 to 0-5 at the half-time interval but powered away in the second half with three goals ensuring a 3-8 to 1-9 triumph.

So far in the season, Loughmacrory have run up an eye-catching winning sequence to emerge victorious in the Ulster Intermediate League event and have since gone on to win four of the opening five league encounters.

That makes very solid reading overall with 10 competitive victories from 11 matches in 2016 so far.

The two week break coming up now will be followed by three tough away games but, after other results saw Moy draw with Derrylaughan and Donaghmore beat Dungannon, means that Loughmacrory are now clear second in the Division 2 table, one point behind league leaders, Moy.

A significant head to head at the top of the table with Moy is next up for the Lough in the league in a fortnight.
