Festive weekend in store at Loughmacrory

Loughmacrory is gearing up for a big festive weekend with the arrival of Santa at his loughside cabin on Sunday and the band taking part in a marathon music session.

Declan Mc Aleer, chair of LCDA said: “This is going to be another bumper weekend.  We expect Santa to arrive by boat at 2pm on Sunday.  He will be in his cabin meeting and greeting children for most of the day.  To book a slot, you need to text Orla on 07907654853 and she will advise you of the time.  During the day from 2pm there will also be a Christmas arts and crafts workshop in the clubrooms.

To add to the festivities, Loughmacrory Accordion band and friends are holding a marathon music session in the clubrooms from 2pm until 10pm on Sunday.   This is to help raise funds to purchase new instruments as they plan ahead for an exciting year, which includes taking part in the St Patrick’s day parade in New York on 17th March.  The band extends an invite to all musicians to come along and join in the craic.

On top of this, the children are busily preparing for the pantomime, Lough5 is on New Years eve and the club have a full programme of events over the festive season.

As we near the end of 2015, the community is on a high, reflecting on a hugely successful year on the sporting front, the arts scene, major charity events and capped off with prestigious awards from RICS and the GAA Ulster Council.  I am certain that 2016 will bring even more good news on all fronts”.
