see url Loughmacrory St. Teresa’s endured a heartbreaking defeat in the replay of the Tyrone GAA Under 16 Grade 1 Football Championship Final on Saturday in Dunmoyle, losing out on a 0-13 to 1-4 scoreline in the end.

watch Having produced a fantastic performance in the drawn county final two weeks earlier, hopes were naturally high that an historic first ever Grade 1 Under 16 championship triumph was within reach but in the end it was not to be.

see url Cathaoir Gallagher ensured a phenomenal start for Lougmacrory as he bagged a goal, which proved to be the only major of the game, after just twenty seconds of play but Dromore made great use then of a near gale force wind for the remainder of the half. They hit seven unanswered points before Gallagher aded two points for the St. Teresa’s before Dromore closed out the half with further scores to make it 0-9 to 1-2 at the break.

Gallagher went agonisingly close to adding a second goal just four minutes into the restart but his low drive skimmed the post and went wide. As the rain poured down and the ever-changing wind made life difficult for both teams, scores proved hard to get in that second period. Indeed Ronan Curran and another point from Cathaoir Gallagher were Loughmacrory’s only scores of the second half as Dromore added four more points to secure the honours. There was another unlucky break for Loughmacrory seven minutes from time when Arnoldas Macidulskas rocketed a shot of the goalpost with just four points between the teams at the time.

That effectively told the story of the day as many of the breaks did not go Loughmacrory’s way, but in truth Dromore were very impressive in their work-rate and tackling to take the honours.

A hugely spirited effort again by Loughmacrory with terrific character again shown by the team and certainly have brought tremendous pride to the club in their endeavours in 2015.

Well done to the management and players on a great year and highlights the future looks very bright indeed…
