uniform dating firemen The Loughmacrory GAA Handball Club launched their initial One Wall Tournament in 2014 as part of the launch of the new One Wall Handball Arena and proved hugely popular and very successful. That event and the introduction of the new One Wall League tournament in the county has proven that there remains major growth potential in the sport of One Wall Handball and it is anticipated that this will be seen to full effect in the months ahead with the new One Wall Season now underway.
watch Mallow is one of the host of new national one wall tournaments being hosted in clubs and there was a sizeable tyrone contingent who made the journey to the far south-west for what proved to be an excellent event.
Conor McElduff captured the Men’s Open title with a 15-8, 15-8 final win over Cork star, Killian Carroll, to see a major winning start to the year for the Irish Open champion. Loughmacrory’s Antoin Fox was a big seed in the Tournament’s Boys 15 & Under Singles event and won through to the final where he again met Cormac Munroe. Loughmacrory were also represented by Dearbhail Fox in the Mallow Tournament and Dearbhail put in a very solid display, despite being very young in the group, as she reached the final before losing out to Carrickmore’s Clodagh McNamee in the Girls 11 & Under final. The same also applied to Mairead Fox who was competing a year young in the in the Girls 13 & Under grade but she showwed excellent play again in reaching the final before losing out to recent Irish Nationals 40×20 champion, Galway’s Niamh Heffernan.
In the Ladies Open at the event there was a big showing from Armagh’s Niamh Coleman who went within an ace of Cork’s Catriona Casey before losing out by 10-9 in the Ladies Open decider.
Breacach’s Sean Kerr had a great win in the Boys 17 & Under final as he maintained his impressive run of form in the One Wall code with a title win over Clare’s Fergal Coughlan.
Congratulations to all the Tyrone GAA players on their wins and those who made the journey to Mallow and congrats to Mallow Handball Club on a fantastic event!
