Season comes to an end for Loughmacrory Juvenile teams

The curtain came down on the 2014 for Loughmacrory Underage football teams on Saturday 4th October and did so with a triumphant celebration for the club’s Under 10 team.

The Under 10 and Under 8 Football Teams travelled to our neighbours, Carrickmore, for their Annual Blitz Tournaments and in the end saw a fine win for the Under 10 squad. Following seven wins in the round robin league stages, Loughmacrory Under 10s this finished top in group and played Carrickmore in the final. An excellent game ensued between two superb young teams and in the end it was Loughmacrory who claimed the honours on a 0-6 to 0-3 scoreline. Well done to all the young team and coaches John McElholm and Gary Conway.

The Under 8 team also put up a series of excellent displays at the Tournament and lost by a single point to eventual winners, Magherafelt in the round robin stages as well as securing a draw with finalists, Galbally. Well done again to all the young players and coaches.

On the same day the club’s Under 13 Football Team travelled to Cookstown to take on Fr. Rock’s in the semi final of the Tyrone Under 13 league but found the home side very strong on this occasion. This defeat saw the side’s campaign come to a close but again the young team and coaches aquitted themselves very well over the course of the season.

The Under 16 football team, after a narrow defeat to a very strong Edendork side in round one of the championship, saw the season ended in a very close encounter with Killeeshil in the quarter finals of the Under 16 Grade 2 football league.
